My Qualifications
- I have a BSc Hons degree in Psychology from De Montfort University
- An MSc in Addictive Behaviours from Liverpool University
- A post Graduate Diploma in Psychology (BPS recognition) from the Open University
- A Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy from the University of Derby
Work Background
- I have worked in the NHS for over 17 years
- Early in my career I worked as a therapist working with young people with problematic drug & alcohol use.
- During my time in the NHS, I managed services and therefore understand the importance of peoples experiences of services & how that can affect treatment.
- Later in my career, I worked with people with mild to severe mental health problems in the community.
- I currently work in a busy hospital helping people using CBT principles to cope with acute mental health difficulties such as feeling suicidal and taking overdoses.
- I have a good knowledge of services and know how to link people in with the right services for them.
