My Qualifications

  • I have a BSc Hons degree in Psychology from De Montfort University
  • An MSc in Addictive Behaviours from Liverpool University
  • A post Graduate Diploma in Psychology (BPS recognition) from the Open University
  • A Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy from the University of Derby

Work Background

  • I have worked in the NHS for over 17 years
  •  Early in my career I worked as  a therapist working with young people with problematic drug & alcohol use.
  • During my time in the NHS,  I managed services and therefore understand the importance of peoples experiences of services & how that can affect treatment.
  • Later in my career,  I worked with people with mild to severe mental health problems in the community.
  • I currently work in a busy hospital helping people using CBT principles to cope with acute mental health difficulties such as feeling suicidal and taking overdoses.
  • I have a good knowledge of services and  know how to link people in with the right services for them.
