Private Home Treatment

Most NHS services don’t offer a home treatment service for CBT and there is a good reason for this. People with anxiety often struggle to meet new people or go to new places, therefore going to CBT at you nearest GP practice or local service helps to get people out and about. However in some cases, people are just to anxious to leave their house. Others may simply want the choice. Either way sadly NHS services are simply too stretched to offer 1 to 1 treatment from your home and sometimes people fall through the net of these services as a result. Lastly there is often a long waiting list in most areas.
I have the flexibility to see you at home if you live in the Staffordshire area at a time that is suitable for you. On our first appointment I will carry out an assessment and agree a treatment plan and the number of CBT sessions this is likely to cover. At the end of the treatment plan we will agree a discharge plan.
Please note, if you suffer from anxiety or depression I would always strongly recommend you talk to your GP about the problems this is causing you and explore accessing local NHS / CBT services first.

Skype Online Therapy
National
Increasingly therapy has been making its way online and using technology to help people access services in a way that was not possible before.
CBT can be delivered effectively using services such as Skype, either through a tablet or using a PC with a camera and microphone. Skype is free and can be downloaded by following this link: https://www.skype.com/en/get-Skype/
It’s a little less personal but there are many CBT services offering CBT online. As with any CBT treatment it would begin with an assessment, followed by a treatment at a mutually agreed time either by telephone or email.
This may be a good way to access my CBT service if you live outside of the Staffordshire area.
